UNSW recognises the importance of offering high quality early education and care provisions to the staff close to campus as being one of the key factors in attracting, retaining and enabling staff.
For local and international student families the availability and close proximity of the services support their ability to study effectively and achieve their career aspirations.
UNSW holds the operational license for three long day care centres Kanga’s House, The House at Pooh Corner and Tigger’s Honeypot Child Care Centre.
Tigger's Honeypot provides first priority to staff and student families. Kanga's House provides first priority to staff and House at Pooh Corner priorities students.
UNSW provides 241 child care places per day. The wait for a position can be anything up to and beyond 2 years. It is important that you place your name on the UNSW Child Care waiting list as soon as possible, as early as conception. It is also advisable to apply for centres close to your place of residence as well. Please contact Randwick Council or your local Council for information regarding alternate childcare centres and services available to you.
There are changes to the waiting list application process. See Application Process page for further information.
